Mouthing and biting are a part of chihuahua puppies normal behavior. However, as puppies grow, so do their teeth and then this mouthing sometimes results in serious injuries. Here are some techniques which might help you to train and socialize your puppy.

A teacup chihuahua uses its mouth very much. In fact, they explore their world with their mouth. They enjoy chewing things. It is found that the habit intensifies during the teething process.

Give your chihuahua some chew toys with unique textures to help fulfill their chewing needs properly with pup training. You can additionally use frozen carrots or fiber bones for satisfying chewing needs of your pups.

When your puppy gets overly noisy and starts nipping and chewing on you, you should handle the situation like his mom. You should let out a sound that allows him know it hurt and he will definitely leave you.

If you want to maintain good relation with your long haired chihuahua simply treat him as you treat your child.

Praise him in a calm manner if his cooperation is immediate and provide him an appropriate chew toy. Do not offer a toy when your hand is still in his mouth, this will instigate the wrong habit. You can also train him to act on your orders.

If your chihuahua puppy doesnt follow what you say, or is getting more and more nasty with people as well as you, its serious then. And he will go on doing the same until you teach him not to.
